Well I had an interesting week to say the least...
For the past four weeks I have been experiencing really bad stomach pains (at least once a week). I figured it was gas pains so I would take mylanta, go to sleep, and when I'd wake up they'd be gone. Pat had bugged me to go to the doctor but since I couldn't find a common denominator, I told him not to worry about it and that I'd be fine. Stupid stupid decision on my part.
Thursday after school I began to get a little bit of pain in my stomach so I decided to go home and take mylanta as I usually did. Around 4:00 Pat stopped by on his break from work to say hi and to see how I was doing. I told him I was having those pains again but they weren't getting as bad as they had been in the past. 8 hours later, I was in the worst pain in my life, Pat immediately left work and my mom kept trying to get me comfortable. By the time 11:00 rolled around I was exhausted and in so much pain that I told Pat I needed to get to the hospital ASAP. The entire time I was in the car with him I was crying and screaming in pain. The poor guy had to have been worried sick but he didn't let it show. He held my hand and told me everything was going to be ok. When we finally arrived at the ER I was pretty much doubled over on the floor. Even after seeing the pain I was in they kept me waiting in the waiting room for 6 hours. Lucky for me the pain began to go away after two hours but boy was I pissed. What if my apendix had burst? Talk about a law suite.
By the time I was seen and released it was 12:00 Friday afternoon. Turns out the pain may be acouple different things. A. Spastic Colan which my mom has, B. Crones disease which my brother has, C. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (and for those of you who knew my roommate Kate O'brien that is what she has) or D. Some other GI problem. They gave me a bunch of prescribtions including some oxycodine :) and sent me on my way. All day Sat. I was completely out of it and my stomach muscles were still really tight. Now it is Sunday and after sleeping almost 24 hours I am feeling much better. The school I teach at was very understanding about me not coming in to teach and just hope that I get better soon.
I was suppose to go to Christina's bridal shower Sat, but the doctor did not want me driving any long distances. Even Pat said to me "what happens if you get these pains when driving on 95? You can't function and odds are you'll crash." Though I didn't like it, I knew they were both right. Christina understood and Pat and I have agreed to take her and Blake out one weekend to celebrate.
Well that's all for now!
